Vikings extension candidate No. 4

Camryn Bynum, safety

Keep an eye on what the Minnesota Vikings do with Harrison Smith this offseason because that could factor heavily into the importance that the team places on retaining the services of Camryn Bynum on an extension.

With Josh Metellus playing a joker role in the defense and the Vikings not knowing if they have anything in Lewis Cine or not, Bynum will likely be one part of the secondary the team wants to keep around.

Bynum took over a starting role in Minnesota's secondary during his second season as a pro. Since then, he hasn't missed a start. He led the team in tackles with 137 last season and tied or beat career-high numbers in forced fumbles, interceptions, and pass defenses.

Although he won't be compensated like one of the NFL's top safeties, Camryn Bynum is a solid player who is worthy of a contract extension. The top safety is set to make approximately $20 million next season but thankfully Bynum shouldn't have a price tag anywhere near there.

Estimated extension: 3 years/$22 million with $14 million guaranteed
