Among the Minnesota Vikings rumors floating around recently is one involves the team's current starting quarterback situation as they prepare to take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 17.

According to ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio on Tuesday, the Vikings are "taking a long look" at who they should start under center for their upcoming matchup against the Packers.

Florio mentions that Nick Mullens and rookie Jaren Hall are the two quarterbacks Minnesota is currently picking between to be their starter in Week 17.

Vikings Rumors: Will a quarterback switch make a difference for Minnesota?

As the starting signal-caller for the Vikings in their last two games, Mullens has thrown a total of six interceptions.

The fact that Minnesota only lost each of their last two matchups by one score just goes to show how big of an impact those turnovers had on the final result.

Now, after dropping four of their last five games, the Vikings' chances of making the playoffs this season are quickly fading away.

It certainly will be interesting to see who Minnesota chooses to be their starter this week.

Mullens has been with the Vikings since the beginning of the 2022 season, so he is obviously the most familiar with Kevin O'Connell's offense among the three quarterbacks they can choose to be their starter in Week 17.

However, Mullens and Josh Dobbs have both proven to be careless with the football during their opportunities to start this year, and Minnesota might want to see if Hall can at least manage the game without turning the ball over as frequently as the team's other two signal-callers.

Before leaving the game with a concussion, Hall led the Vikings on a nine-play, 75-yard scoring drive during his one and only start this season back in the team's Week 9 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Was that enough to earn the rookie another chance to start against Green Bay in Week 17, or will Minnesota give Mullens one more shot to redeem himself?
