Minnesota Vikings Schedule 2023: Game-by-Game Predictions

Week 4 - Sunday, October 1st

at Carolina Panthers

This season's matchup against the Panthers will definitely be an interesting one for the Vikings since Minnesota's hometown hero, Adam Thielen, is now a member of Carolina's roster.

Thielen will probably have a gigantic chip on his shoulder to prove to the Vikings that they should have never let him go earlier this offseason. Despite his efforts, Minnesota should be able to get the best of a Panthers team that isn't quite ready to be much of a threat in the NFC.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 3-1)

Week 5 - Sunday, October 8th

Kansas City Chiefs

For the first time in his NFL career, Chiefs All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes will get to experience the deafening crowd inside Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium.

Mahomes and star tight end Travis Kelce will go up against a Vikings secondary that was one of the worst in the NFL last season. Minnesota's pass defense should, hopefully, be a little better this year, but the improvements made likely won't be enough to stop Kansas City's lethal passing attack.

Prediction: Vikings lose (Record 3-2)

Week 6 - Sunday, October 15th

at Chicago Bears

For whatever reason, it doesn't matter what the Bears' record is at the time of the matchup each season, but every trip the Vikings make to Chicago typically turns out to be a difficult one.

Minnesota got an easy win on the road over the Bears last season, but that was because the game was played in Week 18, and Chicago didn't start Justin Fields at quarterback. Fields will likely be the starter for this season's matchup inside Soldier Field, and if that ends up being the case, then the Vikings will probably have a tough time stopping him.

Prediction: Vikings lose (Record 3-3)

Week 7 - Monday, October 23rd

San Francisco 49ers (MNF)

Who knows who will be starting at quarterback for the 49ers in this season's matchup against the Vikings. But what Minnesota should be concerned about the most when it comes to San Francisco is their defense.

The 49ers' defense was one of the best in the NFL last season, and they should be a very strong unit once again in 2023. However, the luxury of having the home crowd in their corner should help the Vikings grab a win in this NFC showdown.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 4-3)
