Minnesota Vikings Schedule 2023: Game-by-Game Predictions

Week 8 - Sunday, October 29th

at Green Bay Packers

For the first time in a long time, the Vikings will travel to Green Bay to take on a Packers team that won't have Aaron Rodgers on its roster.

With Rodgers now with the New York Jets, Jordan Love is finally taking over under center for Green Bay. Even with Love's inexperience, the Packers on their home field should still be a difficult matchup for Minnesota next season.

Prediction: Vikings lose (Record 4-4)

Week 9 - Sunday, November 5th

at Atlanta Falcons

If there was one contest to circle on the Vikings' 2023 schedule as a trap game, this is the one. Most Minnesota fans will likely just mark this off as a win when they first see the schedule, but the Falcons took some steps in the right direction last season, and they added some new talent that could help them even more in 2023.

The Vikings should be able to get a win over Atlanta in this matchup, but this is not a game that Minnesota should treat like a cakewalk.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 5-4)

Week 10 - Sunday, November 12th

New Orleans Saints

In terms of teams outside of the NFC North, the Saints have arguably been one of the Vikings' biggest rivals during the last two decades. Most of this rivalry stemmed from the controversial outcome of the 2009 NFC Championship, but moments like the "Minneapolis Miracle", and Minnesota's 2019 playoff win in overtime over New Orleans only added more fuel to the fire.

This season will be the Vikings' second opportunity to take on the Saints with Dennis Allen as their head coach since he was given the role in the 2022 offseason. New Orleans played hard under Allen last season, and Minnesota needed a last-second field goal to defeat the Saints. This year's matchup will likely be another close battle, but it's one that the Vikings should be able to escape with a victory.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 6-4)a

Week 11 - Sunday, November 19th

Denver Broncos (SNF)

Minnesota fans have grown very familiar with new Broncos head coach, Sean Payton, over the years. Payton used to be the head coach of the Saints and a lot of his antics have rubbed Vikings fans the wrong way.

Say what you will about his antics, though, Payton is a very good NFL coach, especially when it comes to getting the most out of his quarterbacks. Russell Wilson should be much better for Denver in 2023 with Payton calling the shots now, and an improvement from the veteran signal-caller could make the Broncos one of the most surprisingly successful teams next season.

Prediction: Vikings lose (Record 6-5)
