Minnesota Vikings Schedule 2023: Game-by-Game Predictions

Week 12 - Monday, November 27th

Chicago Bears (MNF)

Typically, when the Vikings host the Bears inside their home stadium, Minnesota is able to get the best of them more often than not. But the Vikings barely escaped last season's home matchup against Chicago, as they trailed midway through the fourth quarter.

The Bears should be better in 2023, but their success all really depends on the health of quarterback Justin Fields. If Fields is able to take the field in this contest, Minnesota will have a tough time getting a win. The Vikings are still capable of beating Chicago with Fields in the lineup, but we all just know that Minnesota's chance of a win would be much higher if the Bears didn't have their dynamic quarterback on the field.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 7 -5)

Week 13

BYE WEEK

Week 14 - Sunday, December 10th

at Las Vegas Raiders

In their first regular-season trip to Las Vegas since the Raiders moved there in 2020, the Vikings will take on an opponent that is surrounded by questions heading into the 2023 season.

The Raiders have plenty of playmakers on their roster (Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, Maxx Crosby), but they always just seem to get in their own way for whatever reason. We also expect there to be a lot of purple in the stands for this contest, so that should help Minnesota in their attempt to come away with a win.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 8-5)

Week 15 - TBD

at Cincinnati Bengals

Two years ago, when the Vikings opened up the season against the Bengals, many felt like it was going to be an easy win for Minnesota. But we quickly found out that Cincinnati is a very talented team and they ended up handing the Vikings a loss in their first game of the 2022 campaign.

Fast forward to now and the Bengals are coming off of two-straight appearances in the AFC Championship and one appearance in the Super Bowl. Cincinnati is expected to be one of the best teams in the NFL again in 2023, and when we look back, this matchup could easily end up being Minnesota's toughest of the entire season.

Prediction: Vikings lose (Record 8-6)

Week 16 - Sunday, December 24th

Detroit Lions

The Lions still haven't made the playoffs with Dan Campbell as their head coach, but he certainly has had his team playing hard every time they've faced the Vikings in the last two seasons.

Expect this contest to be a difficult one for Minnesota as well. Many are expecting Detroit to improve enough to win the NFC North in 2023. But this will be the Vikings' opportunity to prove that the division is still theirs for the taking.

Prediction: Vikings win (9-6)

Week 17 - Sunday, December 31st

Green Bay Packers (SNF)

Ever since U.S. Bank Stadium opened up in 2016, it has been a building where the Vikings have been able to find success during most of their matchups against the hated Packers.

This season's contest will likely be Jordan Love's first experience with attempting to call plays while Minnesota fans inside U.S. Bank Stadium create a deafening amount of noise. Vikings fans love to cheer against Green Bay and they'll have plenty of opportunities to do just that in this specific matchup.

Prediction: Vikings win (10-6)

Week 18 - Sunday, January 7th

at Detroit Lions

Since Dan Campbell took over as the head coach of the Lions in 2021, Minnesota hasn't been able to win a game in Detroit. The Vikings have lost their last two contests inside Ford Field, and they have never lost three games in a row in the Lions' current home building.

There's definitely a good chance that Minnesota's losing streak in Detroit could increase to three during the 2023 season, with how improved the Lions are expected to be. But Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell won't allow that to happen, and Minnesota will pull off the season sweep of the "mighty" Lions.

Prediction: Vikings win (Record 11-6)
