Vikings takeaway No. 2

There is a lot of depth at tight end.

It is going to be extremely difficult to make the 53-man roster of the Minnesota Vikings as a tight end if your name isn't T.J. Hockenson, Josh Olliver, or Johnny Mundt. The other guys will need to be very impressive to get a roster spot.

Nick Muse is really doing everything he can to show that he can be a contributor. After scoring the only Vikings' touchdown last week, the seventh-round pick of Minnesota followed it up by leading the team with three catches on four targets for 46 yards.

Right behind Muse in the receiving stats was tight end Ben Sims. Sims caught both passes thrown his way for 38 yards, showcasing how much talent the Minnesota Vikings truly have at this position heading into the 2023 NFL season.

There is always hope that the Vikings can put one of these young tight ends on the practice squad. That might be the best-case scenario for two young guys who looked sharp during Saturday's preseason game.
