Vikings takeaway No. 5

This team will look different in the regular season.

Fans and experts shouldn't take the preseason too seriously. Although wins and great play would be fantastic to see right now, it will be much better if the Minnesota Vikings can be successful when the regular season rolls around.

Much like last year, the Vikings starters aren't likely to suit up for action in the preseason unless the coaches want to see something from them. This team will look much different when those players are in the lineup.

It may be a bit frustrating to watch these young players make mistakes while they gain experience, but that's exactly the purpose of these preseason games despite some other teams playing their starters in Week 2 of the preseason.

Excitement will come when the regular season comes and Kirk Cousins is connecting on throws to Justin Jefferson. Sadly, that's not a sight fans will see during the preseason under head coach Kevin O'Connell, but it's probably for the best.
