Vikings training camp takeaway No. 1

Danielle Hunter reported to camp....kind of.

One of the biggest question marks surrounding the Minnesota Vikings heading into the 2023 NFL season is whether or not they will have the services of pass rusher Danielle Hunter available or if he will be trades.

Tension about his situation eased a little bit when it was reported that Hunter did not hold out of training camp but now there is something else to worry about. Apparently, he is there, but not participating.

Star Tribune beat reporter Ben Goessling reported that Danielle Hunter did not participate in the first practice although two of the Vikings' offensive starts were doing team drills.

Defensive coordinator Brian Flores said he has been in regular contact with Hunter during the offseason but provided no details as to what those conversations were about or the current status of the Minnesota edge rusher.

It's hard to know at this point if this is a sit-out on Hunter's part or if the Minnesota Vikings are trying to keep their investment in the pass rusher safe as the try to trade him away. It will definitely be a situation to watch as camp goes on.
