Christian Darrisaw is putting in the work to be elite

After an impressive year, it was a bit of a surprise when Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw wasn't voted onto the Pro Bowl roster last season. However, it sounds like Darrisaw has spent the last few months making sure that won't be the case again in 2023.

On Thursday, Minnesota offensive coordinator Wes Phillips revealed that Darrisaw worked out late into the night throughout the offseason. Phillips also shared that the Vikings left tackle also arrived at training camp in "phenomenal shape."

Darrisaw seems really locked in this year, and that's great news for Minnesota, especially for starting signal-caller Kirk Cousins, who is coming off of a season in which he was the most-hit quarterback in the entire NFL.

Darrisaw finished the 2022 campaign with PFF's second-highest offensive grade among all qualifying offensive tackles. Heading into the 2023 season, it sounds like he's been working hard during the last few months to finish with the No. 1 PFF grade among offensive tackles, which, in 2022, was owned by someone he idolizes in current San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams.
