Could Jordan Addison be the new punt returner?

Last season, the Vikings made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles right before Week 1 that resulted in them acquiring wide receiver Jalen Reagor.

Shortly after they added Reagor, it was made pretty clear that he was going to be Minnesota's punt returner for the 2022 campaign. This is exactly what happened, and in 17 games, he returned a total of 26 punts for 167 yards (6.4 yards per return) and no touchdowns.

This year, it appears that Reagor has some competition for the punt returner job, including Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison.

On Thursday, SKOR North's Judd Zulgad revealed that Addison, Reagor, and undrafted rookie receiver Thayer Thomas began the afternoon by taking punt return reps from a JUGS machine before practice.

This could be nothing, but it could also be something. At the very least, it's worth keeping an eye on, as Minnesota could just be looking for another way to get the ball into Addison's hands next season.
