Vikings player No. 3

Brian Asamoah, linebacker

At one time, it looked like Brian Asamoah was going to be a contributing linebacker in many ways after he flashed a few times last season. That hasn't been the case this season, as the young linebacker hasn't played very much.

Seeing action in seven games so far (missing the game against the Packers), Asamoah has taken part in 25 defensive snaps. His bigger role this year has been on special teams, where he has played 100 snaps. His play rate is down from last year in both phases of the game.

The emergence of undrafted free agent Ivan Pace Jr. has made getting him on the field on defense a bit more of a challenge. So far, he has accumulated only six combined tackles with two of those being solo efforts.

Asamoah could see some playing time if something happens with Pace orJordan Hicks, but in the meantime, fans may have to settle for seeing Minnesota's third-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft on special teams.
