Move No. 2

Moving on from old, bloated contracts

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings have developed a love for wide receiver Adam Thielen, linebacker Eric Kendricks, running back Dalvin Cook and others who have worn a purple and gold jersey for multiple seasons in the past.

Sadly, those three individuals and others will not be returning to the Vikings for the 2023 NFL season. These veteran players were on contract signed under the previous management and were hurting the salary cap situation in 2023 and beyond.

It stinks to say farewell to those familiar faces but those types of contracts can do a lot more damage than good to a franchise that is looking to remain competitive while preparing for the future of the team.

Hopefully, some of the players on the 2023 roster can step up to play at a high level and help fans move on from some of the individuals we have watched in Minnesota for years. If not, this might be the right move but feel wrong at the time.
