New team reportedly has trade interest in Vikings RB Dalvin Cook
By Adam Patrick
According to a recent report, the New York Jets are among the teams that have expressed interest in trading for Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook.
At this moment, Dalvin Cook is still a member of the Minnesota Vikings. However, the expectation still remains that Cook will not be with the Vikings by the time the 2023 regular season gets underway in September.
Over the past few weeks, we've heard a number of rumors about multiple teams from around the NFL having interest in acquiring Minnesota's top running back. Well, now, a new team has apparently entered the conversation.
According to KSTP's Darren Wolfson on a recent episode of SKOR North's "Minnesota Sports with Mackey & Judd", the New York Jets are reportedly "definitely interested" in landing Cook this year.
Why the New York Jets might trade for Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook
During the last few weeks, the Miami Dolphins have been viewed as the top destination for Cook this offseason, especially after the recent report about the Vikings and Dolphins being "very close" to agreeing to a trade involving the running back earlier this year.
With the Jets apparently interested in Cook too, they might be more willing to make a trade for the running back just for the simple reason of keeping him away from Miami since both teams are members of the same division.
The addition of Cook in New York would also improve the current state of their running back room. The top guy on their current depth chart, Breece Hall, is coming off of a torn ACL, and no one else on their roster rushed for more than 465 yards last season.
Adding someone like Cook would also allow Hall to have maybe a little bit more time to ease back into the Jets' offense in 2023 and not feel like he has to rush back from his serious injury.
Could former NFC North foes, Cook and Aaron Rodgers, end up becoming teammates in New York before the start of the upcoming season?
