Quarterback No. 2
Justin Fields (Chicago Bears)
If one were to judge strictly on passing numbers alone, then Jared Goff might be ranked higher on this list than Justin Fields. But Fields brings so much more to the table than just his ability to pass the ball.
Behind an underwhelming offensive line last season, Fields still managed to rush for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns on 160 carries (7.1 yards per attempt). His ability to use his legs to get out of trouble in the pocket and and generate big gains is not a skill that is posessed by many in the NFL today.
As far as a passer, Fields definitely has plenty to improve. In 2022, he only completed 60.4 percent of his passes for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
But for 2023, he will get to work with Chicago offensive coordinator Luke Getsy for the second year in a row and he's got a shiny new weapon to use in wide receiver D.J. Moore. The sky is certainly the limit for Fields next season and he could easily end up as one of the top quarterbacks in the entire NFL by the time the 2023 campaign comes to a close.
