Four players from Minnesota Vikings' NFC North rival Detroit Lions have been suspended for multiple games for gambling policy violations.

The NFL announced in a recent press release five NFL players have received suspensions for violating the league's rules on sports gambling. Thankfully, none of those suspended players play for the Minnesota Vikings.

The NFC North took the biggest hit of all the divisions with the Detroit Lions getting hit the hardest. Quintez Cephus and C.J. Moore received indefinite suspensions lasting at least until the end of the 2023 season. The other player receiving this type of suspension is the Commanders' defensive end Shaka Toney.

In response to this announcement, the Lions have released both wide receiver Quintez Cephus and safety C.J. Moore according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport on Twitter.

The biggest surprise of the release is the inclusion of Lions second-year wide receiver Jameson Williams. Minnesota Vikings fans will remember that Detroit had traded up with the Vikings to select him in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Williams and fellow receiver Stanley Berryhill were handed down six-game suspensions each but will be allowed to participate in all offseason and preseason activities with the team to prepare for the upcoming season.

At this time, schedules have not been released to know if the Minnesota Vikings will be facing the Detroit Lions in this six-game window, but the two teams will square off twice, once at each team's home field, as is typical for teams competing in the same division to do.
