Nightmare scenario No. 2

Multiple contributors are allowed to hit free agency

While it wouldn't be as crushing as allowing Justin Jefferson to hit free agency, there are some other players who are set to become free agents who should be a priority for the Minnesota Vikings to extend.

Guys like tight end T.J. Hockenson, wide receiver K.J. Osborn, and edge rusher Danielle Hunter are all set to become free agents after this season but should all at least be involved in a conversation to stick around in Minnesota.

Of course, Kirk Cousins is on that list too, but the Vikings might be looking to the draft to see if they can find a capable quarterback of the future. That plan would make bringing him back more of an emergency plan than a priority.

After trading for Hockenson and developing Osborn and Hunter, allowing them to leave in free agency without a plan in place to replace their production would be a little bit dangerous and could lead to a disaster.
