Nightmare scenario No. 3

Injuries sweep through the locker room

A bunch of injuries hampering a team is a nightmare scenario for any squad in the NFL, not only the Minnesota Vikings. There are some key players who would be much more instrumental in the team's success who would be missed if they couldn't take the field.

Obviously, having to play any game this season without Justin Jefferson is something no fan wants to think about. The dynamic pass-catcher is one of the most exciting and explosive players in the league and changes the dynamic of Minnesota's offense.

Also, the Vikings have been lucky that KIrk Cousins is a bit of an iron man of sorts. He just doesn't miss games due to injury despite absorbing some pretty big hits from defenders every week of the season.

Of course, there is always the next-man-up mentality in the NFL but there can be a serious drop-off in talent sometimes that can make winning with a backup in a starting role a much bigger challenge than it would normally be.
