Now is the time to bet on Vikings to make the playoffs

There's no denying the Minnesota Vikings have got off to a rough start to their 2023 campaign, but I'm here to tell you to not lose faith.

In fact, if you're a fan of betting, like I am, I think now is a great time to bet on them to make the playoffs, despite being just 1-3.

Let's take a look at the odds to do so and then I'll make my case.

Vikings Playoff Odds

The team currently sitting in the final wild card spot in the NFC is the Atlanta Falcons, who have a 2-2 record. At 1-3, the Vikings are just one game behind the Falcons, but yet are +210 to make the postseason. That means you can profit $210 on a $100 bet if they're able to pull it off.

Despite their record, the Vikings have been playing some great football this season. If you take a look at one of my favorite statistics, Net Yards per Play, you'll see what I'm talking about. The Vikings rank fifth in the NFL in Net Yards per Play, behind only the Dolphins, 49ers, Ravens, and Lions.

Yes, the Vikings still have a tough few games ahead of them with matchups against the Chiefs and 49ers in two of the next three weeks, but the second half of their schedule opens right up. Starting in Week 8, the Vikings have games against the Packers, Falcons, Saints, Broncos, Bears, Raiders, and Bengals, all of which they'll likely be favored in.

Let's not count them out this week against the Chiefs either. I think they're live on Sunday for an upset.
