Vikings potential trade No. 2

Danielle Hunter, edge rusher

There are reports circulating that teams have already been inquiring about acquiring the services of edge rusher Danielle Hunter. The versatile defender has been productive in both a 3-4 and a 4-3 defense, increasing his value.

Through six weeks, Hunter is tied with Steelers defender T.J. Watt to be the league leader in sacks with eight each and consistently wins one-on-one matchups against offensive linemen to get pressure on opposing passers.

Why this trade could work:

Talented pass rushers are still worth a premium price in the NFL. He is still only 28 years old and has many years left. Minnesota does have some interesting players like Wonnum and Jones II on their depth chart.

Why this trade might not happen:

Like Cousins, Danielle Hunter also has two void years on his contract but is set to become a free agent after this year. Hunter is likely to get a big contract, which would earn Minnesota a big compensatory pick. The value of the trade would have to be significantly more than what that pick would be.
