The final of the three players rumored to be in demand through trade, Harrison Smith is a bit of a different story from the others on this list. The 34-year-old safety is in the final year of his contract with the Minnesota Vikings but is still playing 99 percent of the team's defensive snaps.
Smith is likely to enter the Vikings Ring of Honor when he decides to retire from the NFL. His 12 seasons with Minnesota have made him one of the more popular players on the team's roster over the last decade.
Why this trade could work:
There is definitely a demand for an experienced safety in the NFL. Getting some draft picks for a player at the tail end of their career could really help the Vikings when they are attempting to rebuild for the future.
Why this trade might not happen:
It's hard to know how much longer Harrison Smith will play. He worked with the Minnesota Vikings to stay with the team for one more year, but he may not have the desire to play elsewhere and the team might not want him to do so.
