Vikings potential trade target No. 3

Jerry Hughes, edge - Houston Texans

Past Danielle Hunter, there isn't a lot of experience among the pass rushers on the Minnesota Vikings roster. They could solve that for the time being by going after a veteran to rotate with Hunter and Marcus Davenport this season.

Hughes will be 35 years old this season, but has still been a productive player. Last year, he had nine sacks for the Texans and hasn't looked like he is slowing down quite yet. He is in the final year of his contract with Houston and is set to carry a $6.5 million cap hit.

Houston used a first-round draft pick on Will Anderson Jr. this year and that could make Jerry Hughes available for trade since the Texans are another franchise that seems to be preparing for the future.

For Minnesota, they would add experience to a group that could use a veteran and do so for a small amount of salary cap while likely not spending a high draft pick to acquire him. This is a deal that could benefit both sides.
