Pros and Cons of the Minnesota Vikings keeping Dalvin Cook

Pro No. 3: Youth and experience

Dalvin Cook has been the starting running back of the Minnesota Vikings for six seasons. During that time, he started 72 games, seeing action in 73 contests, gaining 5,993 yards on the ground and scoring 43 touchdowns.

With all that experience, it's kind of wild to think that Cook will only be turning 28 years old this August. He has accomplished quite a bit at a young age in the NFL and still has a lot of gas left in the tank going forward.

If the Vikings are really looking to prepare for the future and build around young talent, Dalvin Cook isn't old enough or washed up enough to be an easy decision to move on from this offseason or any other offseason.

The combination of youth and experience Dalvin Cook brings to the running back position is hard to match. Being able to keep a player like him would be great but, of course, the business side of the NFL can be a tough place.
