Vikings QB option No. 7

Zach Wilson

2023 Team: New York Jets

Oh boy. Where do we start with Zach Wilson? There are plenty of jokes that could be told, but reports are saying that the Minnesota Vikings have "done their homework" on Zach Wilson and could see him as a realistic candidate to end up in a purple and gold jersey.

The New York Jets are likely ready to move on from Wilson after using the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft on him. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract and would have a tiny cap hit in 2024.

At only 24 years old, Wilson has started 33 games for the Jets in three seasons but is no longer at the top of the depth chart. Throwing 23 touchdowns to 25 interceptions as a pro and having a starting record of 12-21 isn't going to make him too hot of a target.

Wilson has never had a season where he averaged over 200 passing yards per game but is coming off arguably his best season as a pro and there is some hope that the Minnesota Vikings could build off that momentum.
