Reason to be optimistic No. 1

Every game has been competitive.

Through five games, the Minnesota Vikings have been outscored by a total of 12 points (122 to 110). That includes games against last year's NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles and Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Every game has been highly competitive. Fans can look at games like the ones against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and say that they should have won that game, but no team has made Minnesota look like they don't belong.

If just looking at the 1-4 record, it would be easy to just say that the Vikings stink and that they are among the worst teams in the league but that might not be the case. Every game so far has come down to one score.

If the Minnesota Vikings were getting blown out each week, it would be much easier to join the negative portion of the fanbase. However, this team might not be bad enough to be as bad as they want them to be.
