On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings reportedly worked out a trade that resulted in sending second-year offensive tackle Vederian Lowe to the New England Patriots in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick. Lowe was just selected by the Vikings in the 2022 NFL Draft, and now he's on his way to New England.

Despite Minnesota drafting him less than two years ago, the team had no problem moving on from the offensive tackle this summer. Could this be a sign of what's to come for another one of the Vikings' 2022 draft picks, cornerback Andrew Booth Jr.?

Booth was selected in the second round of the 2022 draft by Minnesota, but his tenure with the team has been significantly underwhelming so far. He struggled as a rookie when he was healthy enough to even be on the field, and then this summer, he's been playing with the Vikings' second and third-team defenses in training camp and the preseason.

Since Booth was just a second-round pick in 2022, many still believe that his spot on Minnesota's 2023 roster is as close to 100 percent safe as possible. But the Vikings might already be having second thoughts about keeping the young corner around for the upcoming regular season.

Minnesota just let everyone know that they're okay with moving on from a 2022 draft pick by trading Lowe to the Patriots on Sunday. So who's to say they won't part with another 2022 draft selection this year in Booth?

Now, a player picked in the sixth round is a lot different than one who was selected in the second round. So maybe since the investment used on Booth was more valuable than the one used on Lowe, the Vikings will be more willing to wait a little longer to see if the cornerback can figure things out.

Booth's chances of remaining on Minnesota's final 2023 roster still seem fairly high. But, at the same time, don't be shocked if the Vikings decide to move on from the young defensive back before the regular season begins on September 10th.
