Fifth-Round Selection No. 2 (164th overall)

Original Selection: Jaren Hall - QB (BYU)

Redraft Selection: Henry To'oTo'o - LB (Alabama)

Eric Kendricks is gone, and Jordan Hicks has one year left on his deal. The Vikings love the potential of second-year linebacker Brian Asamoah, but at some point, they need to think about the future of the position.

Henry To'oTo'o comes from the Nick Saban defense that for years has been one of, if not the best, in the entire SEC. A former five-star recruit, To'oTo'o started his college career at Tennessee before transferring to Alabama. At Alabama, he made an immediate impact for the Crimson Tide.

For this Vikings defense, they need someone that could make an immediate impact. Hicks is expected to start the 2023 season next to Asamoah, and in the actual 2023 draft, Minnesota decided to add to their linebacker room in the form of UDFA Ivan Pace Jr. from Cincinnati. To'oTo'o was someone who could have battled Hicks for a starting spot.

To'oTo'o is not going to jump out at you on tape, but he is not just a guy. He has a knack for getting to the ball. Although he is not the fastest or hardest hitter, he does do what it takes to get the job done.

At the very least, To'oTo'o would likely play a big role on special teams in year one and take over for Hicks in 2024. The Houston Texans, who actually selected him, may have gotten the steal of the draft when we look back on this class in five years' time.
