Starting Outside Linebackers
- Danielle Hunter – OLB
Yes, there is speculation that Danielle Hunter could be traded since reports have surfaced that teams are calling about his availability. However, the Minnesota Vikings won't get another established pass rusher leave without getting great value or having a plan for the future.
Hunter has had double-digit sacks in four of his seven seasons in purple and gold and should be the focal point of Minnesota's pass rush this season if he is still on the roster when the 2023 NFL season rolls around.
- Marcus Davenport – OLB
Trading away disgruntled edge rusher Za'Darius Smith has opened the door for Marcus Davenport to be a starter this season. Considering what Minnesota paid for his services, they must have high hopes for him this season.
If Danielle Hunter is traded, Davenport will likely be the team's featured pass rusher despite never having a season with double-digit sacks while playing with the New Orleans Saints for five seasons after being the No. 14 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
