Vikings roster takeaway No. 3

Running back shuffle

Another of the biggest questions coming into roster cuts was whether or not DeWayne McBride would make the team. He scored two touchdowns in the preseason, but wasn't overly impressive otherwise.

The Vikings kept Alexander Mattison, Kene Nwangwu, and Ty Chandler but opted not to keep a fourth halfback on the 53-man roster. However, they did later sign McBride to the team's practice squad, keeping him around.

What makes this even more interesting is that the Vikings added running back Myles Gaskin on Wednesday, meaning they weren't completely happy with the unit, but knew that McBride wasn't the piece they were looking for.

With some time and development, DeWayne McBride could be a future candidate to make the Minnesota Vikings 53-man roster but this year is not the time for him, as it will be Myles Gaskin in his place.
