The curious case of Jalen Reagor

There is no situation more baffling for the Minnesota Vikings than the one surrounding Jalen Reagor. As previously stated, Reagor made the 53-man roster only to be released when Myles Gaskin was added to the team.

Rumors were swirling that teams were calling the Vikings about the availability of Reagor and it started to sound like he would be traded. Instead, he was released with no compensation and will be subject to waivers.

To make matters worse, Minnesota will be on the hook for Reagor's salary unless he is claimed off waivers since he is on a guaranteed rookie contract. If that doesn't happen, the Vikings will be paying him not to play for them.

Hopefully, one of those teams who were calling about the services of Jalen Reagor will claim him from waivers. But it is interesting that the Minnesota Vikings didn't trade him away if he was that close to being part of the cuts leading up to the 53-man roster.
