Vikings takeaway No. 1

Turnovers are still a major problem

After turning the ball over three times against the Buccaneers in Week 1, fans had to hope that the Minnesota Vikings would come out on Thursday Night Football and be more secure with the ball against the Eagles.

Instead, the Vikings fumbled the ball four times against Philadelphia and dug themselves into a major hole that they were not able to recover from. Once again, there is a good chance the purple and gold could have won if they hadn't given the ball away.

Like in Week 1, the Vikings turned the ball over near the goal line and turned a potential touchdown into a change of possession. That swing has hurt the team in their first two games, both of which ended up as one-score games.

Now, the Minnesota Vikings have seven turnovers in their first two games. They still have a way to go to get anywhere near the record of 68 turnovers in a season, currently held by the 1961 Denver Broncos. Let's hope we don't have to keep track of these numbers in the future.
