Vikings takeaway No. 4

Minnesota has no rushing attack

The Minnesota Vikings are primarily a passing team. They have star receiver Justin Jefferson, standout rookie Jordan Addison, and dynamic tight end T.J. Hockenson to make plays as pass catchers this season.

One of the biggest strengths of Minnesota's passing attack is the play-action pass. However, play action isn't very believable when your team can't run the ball, and that is an area that has been massively disappointing this season so far.

The Vikings only ran the ball nine times on Thursday night, gaining a total of 28 yards. Last week, they only ran the ball 17 times for 41 yards, and seven of those yards came from three 23 scrambles by Kirk Cousins.

That is carries in 23 rushing attempts by running this season for a total of 62 yards. 2.7 yards per carry isn't going to scare any team on a play action attempt or in normal defensive situations. There has to be better balance.
