Vikings takeaway No. 4

Minnesota's defense is solid.

Other than a Jonnu Smith screen pass that went 60 yards for a touchdown, the Minnesota Vikings' defense did a fantastic job of limiting the Falcons offense while getting pressure on quarterback Taylor Heinicke.

Minnesota needs to clean up their third-down defense, where they allowed ten conversions on 18 attempts, but they also had three quarterback hits and four defended passes to go with two takeaways.

Atlanta had seven more yards of offense on the day, but Minnesota won the time of possession and only allowed the Falcons two trips into the red zone despite Atlanta running 14 more plays than the Vikings.

There is room for improvement and the Minnesota Vikings will face better offenses later this season, but the defense is doing their part to help this team win. it's a stark contrast to how this team performed in 2022.
