Vikings takeaway No. 3

It was a tale of two halves.

The Minnesota Vikings were absolutely dominant in the first half. They went into the half with a 24-3 lead over the New Orleans Saints and this felt like a game where they would be in control the entire time. But that wasn't the case.

New Orleans outscored Minnesota 3-16 in the second half with their offense led by Jameis Winston. Even though the Vikings defense held the Saints to 280 yards of total offense and got two takeaways, this game ended up much closer than it likely should have been.

T.J. Hockenson had ten catches in the first half for 128 yards and a touchdown but only made one reception for six yards in the second half. When the Saints made adjustments, Minnesota struggled to find an answer.

It would be nice to see the Minnesota Vikings play a complete game and put a team away in a convincing manner. It feels like this team always has a way to make their fans bite their fingernails even when it shouldn't be necessary.
