Tommy Kramer shares why he's not in Vikings Ring of Honor

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings announced that former defensive back Bobby Bryant has been selected as the next person to be added to the team's Ring of Honor during the upcoming season. The announcement generated plenty of reactions, and it even resulted in former Vikings quarterback Tommy Kramer sharing a pretty interesting story.
Kramer revealed on his X.com account on Wednesday that he was apparently going be inducted into Minnesota's Ring of Honor in 2003, but his addition to the group was put on hold in order to get former Vikings star wide receiver Cris Carter inducted first.

Will the Minnesota Vikings ever add Tommy Kramer to their Ring of Honor?
In his post, Kramer shared how former Minnesota owner Red McCombs had agreed to induct the former quarterback into the team's Ring of Honor in 2003, and then he was asked if he could wait just one more year to be inducted instead in order to honor Carter first. Kramer agreed, assuming his Ring of Honor ceremony would just take place in the near future.
However, the former Minnesota signal-caller revealed that after McCombs sold the team in 2005, his Ring of Honor induction was forgotten about by the team's new ownership. Since Carter's induction in 2003, 15 former members of the Vikings have been added to the team's Ring of Honor (including Bryant), and Kramer still hasn't been selected for the honor.
Heading into the 2024 season, Kramer still ranks second all-time in Minnesota team history in career passing yards, career wins, and career starts by a quarterback while also ranking third in franchise history in career touchdown passes. He was also named one of the 50 Greatest Vikings of all time in 2010.
Currently, the great Fran Tarkenton is the only former Minnesota quarterback in the team's Ring of Honor. When the Vikings eventually decide to add another member to the team's prestigious group after Bryant's induction this season, should the honor finally be given to Kramer?
