Viking No.3

Mekhi Blackmon - CB

We won't get too ahead of ourselves, but it's starting to look like the Vikings have a decent cornerback room brewing. This year's unit has been a far cry from what fans saw last season, and while a lot of this can be attributed to the defensive schemes being overhauled this offseason, there is no denying that cornerback play has been better.

Rookie third-round pick Mekhi Blackmon showed everyone just how improved the Vikings' cornerback room is this season, as he was otherworldly impressive with his first real chunk of NFL playing time.

Blackmon had 20 coverage snaps on the day, which he turned into 0 receptions for Green Bay, even having 3 pass break ups along the way. That is the definition of a lockdown day for Blackmon, who has shown flashes as a rookie, but hadn't received too much playing time until this past weekend.

It'll be hard to keep Blackmon off the field now after that outing, which is a great issue to have for Minnesota. This isn't to say that Blackmon is going to be a future lockdown corner, but his performance at Lambeau was as promising as can be.
