Vikings Draft 2024: Pre-Scouting Combine 7-round mock draft
By Adam Carlson
Fourth-Round Pick No. 2 (130th Overall)
Re'Mahn Davis - RB (Kentucky)
The Minnesota Vikings need to try something different to find some sparks in their run game. Alexander Mattison completed the 2023 NFL season without a rushing score and looks to continue the lead running back duties for the upcoming season.
One good thing is that running backs aren't as sought after in the draft as they used to be. Talented runners can be found in the mid-to-late rounds. Re'Mahn Davis spent two years at Temple and two years at Vanderbilt before finishing with Kentucky in 2023.
At Kentucky, Davis ran for 1,129 yards and 14 touchdowns while adding 33 catches for 323 yards and seven more scores. He proved he can be a dual threat by averaging 5.7 yards per carry and 9.8 yards per reception.
Drafting a running back might not solve the rushing problem for the Minnesota Vikings, but it does add some more talent to the position. Plus, being able to pass more out of the backfield could add more dimension to the offense.
