Sixth-Round Pick No. 1 (179th Overall)
Luke McCaffrey - WR (Rice)
The Minnesota Vikings could be losing K.J. Osborn and Brandon Powell in free agency. If that happens, the team will need to take a look at their wide receivers and figure out which one could be up for a bigger role.
A quarterback converted to wide receiver, Luke McCaffrey made a role for himself as a pass-catcher at Rice after playing quarterback at Nebraska for two seasons. The change was a fantastic decision for McCaffrey, especially in 2023.
Luke McCaffrey may not have as much experience as a wide receiver, but his 71 catches for 992 yards, and 13 touchdowns in 2023 should open some eyes to the potential he could have as a receiving option.
Being behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison would be a great opportunity for a young pass-catcher to learn and grow while getting opportunities to be productive. The Minnesota Vikings could let him come along slowly and not be rushed into a lineup.
