Sixth-Round Pick No. 2 (190th Overall)
Joshua Karty - K (Stanford)
I know, I know, drafting a kicker is kind of frowned upon these days, especially for the Minnesota Vikings. However, Greg Joseph is set to become a free agent, and the team needs to find someone to handle those dudes in 2024.
Joshua Karty is arguably the top kicker in this year's draft class. The Stanford kicker only missed one extra point out of 73 tries and connected on 51 of his 60 field goal tries over three years, a consistent and solid effort.
Minnesota will likely try to bring Joseph back or look to free agency or possibly sign an undrafted free agent to compete to be their next kicker, but there is a chance that the team will want to spend a late-round draft pick to ensure they get one of the top prospects.
If a team can fill a need without spending a lot of salary cap or using draft capital, that is the most likely route. However, if the Minnesota Vikings really like what they see in Joshua Karty, he could be part of their 2024 NFL Draft class.
