NFC North standings and situation

At the moment, the NFC North isn't one of the better divisions in the NFL but they do boast two good teams in the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings. With the season more than half over, here are the current standings:

1. Detroit Lions 7-2
2. Minnesota Vikings 6-3
3. Green Bay Packers 3-6
4. Chicago Bears 3-7

The Detroit Lions host the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon and this will be a game Vikings fans should be hoping the Bears can win. With only eight weeks remaining in the regular season, every game is huge.

The fact that the Vikings play the Lions twice in the final three weeks of the season makes the lead-up to the end of the year even more important. Hopefully, Minnesota won't be in a position where they need to win both of those games, and that means gaining more ground on the Lions is important.

It's still a bit early to be thinking about the playoffs or the division title, but that all hinges on how the team performs every week. Getting a win against the Denver Broncos in Week 11 would go a long way in helping ease any concerns.
