The Vikings need to lock down Justin Jefferson.

Injuries with their quarterbacks and pass catchers as well as offensive lineman have made it difficult for the Minnesota Vikings to have a consistent offense despite Justin Jefferson being one of the most explosive players in the NFL.

Jefferson only caught six passes against the Detroit Lions on Christmas Eve but he made the most of those grabs by racking up 141 receiving yards and finding the end zone once in the one-score loss to the division rival.

Despite four interceptions and two fumbles from quarterback Nick Mullens, the Minnesota Vikings were able to look to the best pass-catcher in the league to give the game a competitive look in the final minutes.

A blank check seems to be the way the Minnesota Vikings will approach an extension with Justin Jefferson. The star receiver will be playing on his fifth-year option in 2024, giving the team a little time to figure out how to lock him down for many years to come.
