There were questions heading into the offseason about who would be the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings at the start of the 2024 NFL season, but with Kirk Cousins signing with the Atlanta Falcons, the picture has become a little bit more clear.

Many experts believe the Vikings will look to the NFL Draft to fill the position and with Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye the consensus top three picks, the Vikings will have to look at someone else.

Reports are coming out that the Vikings are looking at the Michigan product, J.J. McCarthy, as their target in the upcoming draft. That idea is supported by the fact the Vikings have scheduled a private workout with McCarthy next week.

If you want further evidence to back up the report, just take a look at the latest betting odds for which team will draft the national champion:

J.J. McCarthy Draft Odds

As of writing this article, the Vikings are the -115 favorites to land McCarthy. If you translate those odds to implied probability, there is a 53.49% chance of the Michigan product landing in Minnesota. You would have to bet $115 on it to happen in order to profit $100.

The other three teams with a realistic chance of drafting McCarthy includes the New York Giants (+350), Denver Broncos (+430), and New England Patriots (+900).

The Vikings currently hold the No. 11 overall pick. If they want McCarthy, they may need to trade up to get him with several other teams potentially in the market for a quarterback, including the New York Giants who hold the No. 6 pick.

NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah currently has the Vikings trading up with the Arizona Cardinals to acquire the No. 4 overall pick to draft McCarthy. Minnesota would likely give up both its 11th and 23rd overall picks to move up to No. 4.
