Mekhi Blackmon - CB

With a rookie cornerback, you are bound to run into a week where things just do not click. For Mekhi Blackmon, that happened against the Broncos. For as good as he has been in a limited role during his first season, he was given a bit of a welcoming moment.

Courtland Sutton came up with two massive completions with Blackmon in coverage. He beat the rookie deep down the field for a diving catch in the first half and then hauled in the game-winning touchdown in the final minute with Blackmon failing to knock the ball loose.

I am not worried about Blackmon but this was certainly a game to forget for the rookie. He went up against a challenging opponent and did so without the help of Akayleb Evans to split reps on the outside. In his first game with an uptick in playing time, Blackmon showed some rookie struggles.

While this game was hopefully a chance for Blackmon to cement himself as a starter, he should remain in a shared role with Evans moving forward this season.
