Life after parting with the Minnesota Vikings hasn't exactly been what one would describe as enjoyable for Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen.
Thielen was part of a Panthers team that finished with a 2-15 record last season, and this year, Carolina only has one win after its first eight games. To make matters worse, the former Vikings receiver Thielen has had to watch the Panthers struggle from the sidelines as he's currently recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered back in Week 3.
He didn't appear in Carolina's loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, and it's even possible that he might have already played in his final game with the Panthers, as he's been the subject of some recent trade rumors.
Former Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen could be moved by the Carolina Panthers before this season's trade deadline
With Carolina's 2024 season already in the gutter, a number of the team's players have been mentioned as candidates to be sent elsewhere before the trade deadline on November 5., including Thielen
On Sunday, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport shared that Thielen is currently among a group of veteran wide receivers who are considered "potential trade targets" before next Tuesday's deadline.
Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers could all use another reliable pass-catcher on their rosters, so these seem like three believable destinations for Thielen if the Panthers decide to part with him before this season's trade deadline.
After finishing with 1,000 receiving yards in a single season for the third time in his NFL career last year, Thielen's hamstring injury has limited him to just eight catches for 108 yards and one touchdown in three appearances this season.
He's currently in the middle of his 12th year in the league, and he's still never had the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl. Perhaps that will change in the near future if Carolina sends Thielen to a contender before next Tuesday.
