Vikings insider indicates major trade could be in the works for Minnesota
By Adam Carlson
November 5 is the trade deadline for the NFL and many teams could make moves to improve their roster or prepare for the future by making a deal. The Minnesota Vikings are 5-1 through 7 weeks and look like a team to beat in the NFC, making them a candidate to possibly try to improve their team.
There have been plenty of rumblings about what the Vikings could do. Rumors have swirled about Minnesota considering adding talent to the trenches or skill positions, but a trade does not seem immediate.
Vikings insider indicates major trade could be in the works for Minnesota
Recently, KSTP's Darren Wolfson appeared on SKOR North's Minnesota Sports with Mackey and Judd and was asked about the possibility of the Vikings making a splash before the trade deadline. His response was interesting.
"They are absolutely having discussions. I will be shocked if I hear otherwise. I'm led to believe this: that at least have to consider putting that first-round pick on the table"

The Minnesota Vikings are in an interesting position where they could go all-in on the 2024 NFL season and do what they can to give the team a better chance of reaching the NFC Championship or Super Bowl this year.
However, the purple and gold are limited in their assets. Minnesota does not have many picks in the 2025 NFL Draft and have approximately $14 million in salary cap space if they want to take on a player with a large contract.
"Whether it's a Dexter Lawrence or a Jeffrey Simmons...maybe even a Jaycee Horn. Do you have to give up the one plus more? And what is that more for Lawrence? To me, it's also your 2026 first round pick. "

Wolfson seems locked in on the defensive side of the ball as being an area the Minnesota Vikings could look to improve before the trade deadline. It will be interesting to see what the team does with their future assets and how deep they are willing to dive into those assets to acquire talent.
Depending on which teams are selling around the trade deadline, there could be a potential blockbuster trade on the horizon for the Vikings. If Kwesi Adofo-Mensah firmly believes this team is special, Minnesota's general manager could decide to make a big move to be competitive this season.
