The Minnesota Vikings were looking to add depth to their wide receiver room behind All-Pro Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah managed to find a possible lottery ticket at the bottom of the remaining free agent dumpster due to the player's concerning injury history.
The Vikings have agreed to terms with former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore. After being traded to the Atlanta Falcons for Desmond Ridder last season, Moore suffered a serious knee injury in training camp that brought an end to his stint down south before it ever got going.
The Vikings will put Moore in a place where he can succeed. However, they run the risk if possibly losing out on his production if the diminutive receiver once again is unable to make it through the year without missing time.
Vikings sign former Cardinals WR Rondale Moore
Moore, a former top recruit who managed to star at Purdue despite a 5-7 frame, has recorded 1,450 yards from scrimmage (including 249 as a rusher on jet sweeps) in three years with Arizona. However, Moore has missed a good chunk of time in his career with bumps and bruises.
Not only did Moore miss all of last season due to his knee problem, but he also missed a combined 12 games in his first two NFL seasons due to various ailments. However, when he is healthy, Moore shows great speed, impressive elusiveness as a ball-carrier and sure hands that can play well in Kevin O'Connell's scheme.
Moore will try to push Jalen Nailor for WR3 snaps, which could be a fairly feasible goal if Nailor is unable to replicate his impressive 2024 campaign. Moore might also get some use as a gadget player, as Arizona got some quality snaps out of him as a runner instead of being a traditional receiver.
Moore is not going to move the needle in terms of overall wins and losses, but he could be a fun player for a creative offensive coach like O'Connell to play around with. If he can stay healthy, he could end the season as the starting No. 3 wide receiver.
