The Minnesota Vikings' 2024 season looked like a fairytale after Sam Darnold tossed 35 touchdowns and won 14 games, but not all tales like this have a happy ending. Darnold stunk it up twice in the last regular season game and lone playoff matchup as the Vikings were smacked by the Los Angeles Rams.
Still, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and the Vikings have plenty to work with heading into 2025. The J.J. McCarthy era is starting, the defense could be feared once more if Brian Flores stays as coordinator, and the collection of weapons remains one of the best in the entire NFL.
The Vikings only have four draft picks to their name, however. That could be improved if Adofo-Mensah, who moves up and down the draft order unlike any other GM, starts to move back in the first round to acquire more picks. This 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft could land three new immediate contributors.
Minnesota Vikings 3-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 24: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame
Colorado's Travis Hunter and Michigan's Will Johnson are both going in the top half of the first round. Beyond them, all bets are off in a wide-open cornerback class. The Vikings, in desperate need of a young star cornerback who can solidify their secondary, may end up picking between Morrison and East Carolina's Shavon Revel Jr.
While Morrison has been injured for most of this season, he remains a high-end ballhawk who had nine interceptions in the past two seasons. With slot versatility and some very promising reps as a tackler to his name, Minnesota shouldn't have to think too hard about how to get Morrison on the field early and often.
Round 3, Pick 94: Jake Majors, IOL, Texas
While Darnold was holding the ball for quite some time, any game in which a quarterback is sacked nine times is one that shows a lack of offensive line depth. Rather than going back and forth between Dalton Risner and Ed Ingram at the right guard spot, Majors could come in and make an impact.
Majors' run blocking is very much a work in progress, as he is a smaller lineman who can struggle with raw power. Where he excels is using his light feet and tremendous athleticism for an interior guard to stand out as one of the best pass-blocking guards in this class.
Round 3, Pick 97: Ty Robinson, DT, Nebraska
The Vikings have a hellish pass rush, but the interior of that defensive line could use one more run-stuffer in there. Robinson is projected to fly up the draft boards if he tests well, as the 6-6 tackle has shown off some very enticing flashes of raw power and movement in the open field.
Robinson has an odd build for an interior lineman, and he might not have the most upside as a pass rusher, but he has been an extremely productive Cornhusker for the last few seasons. In the hands of a quality defensive mind like Flores, Robinson should eventually be able to take on a starting role.
