Weather could be a factor for Vikings and Jaguars in Week 10
By Adam Carlson
The Minnesota Vikings snapped their two-game losing streak in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts and hope to keep that momentum going when they travel to Florida in Week 10 to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Unlike the Vikings, the Jaguars play in an open stadium. TAII Bank Field at EverBank Stadium is a fantastic sports venue but is susceptible to weather conditions and other factors that normally wouldn't be an issue at Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium.
Weather could be a factor for Vikings and Jaguars in Week 10
The game between the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars is set for a noon CT kickoff on Sunday, Nov. 10. Although the weather isn't expected to be severe during the game, it could play a role in how the game is played.
NFL Weather has an interesting forecast for the game, including temperatures in the mid-to-low 80s with about 80 percent cloud cover and clear visibility expected for the entirety of the Week 10 game.
The concern comes with the probability of rain at about 35-40 percent and a low breeze that could turn into moderate gusts throughout the game. Although the wind is expected to remain around 16 mph out of the southeast throughout the game, gusts could get up to around 27 miles per hour. That's not a massively significant gust, but enough to make a difference on a long pass or field goal attempt.
Minnesota will have John Parker Romo as their kicker for this game. He will be making his NFL debut in this game, meaning the former All-XFL kicker is likely to try his first kick during a regular season game on Sunday.
The Vikings already have a special teams situation that will be interesting to watch. Kicker Will Reichard and long snapper Andrew DePaola are on injured reserve, meaning that it will be Romo and Jake McQuaide handling those duties in Week 10.
McQuade is a veteran long snapper who has been in the league since 2011 and was named to two Pro Bowls. The 36-year-old special teamer's experience is stark contrast to the youth and 27-year-old John Parker Romo.
Don't miss the action when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in what is an important game for the purple and gold to win in order to keep pace with the rest of the highly competitive NFC North.
