Of all the NFL teams over the weekend, the Minnesota Vikings had the most dominant performance of the weekend with a 38-point win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Vikings' defense was a total team effort, with four sacks and five turnovers created. Minnesota's offense had 352 yards and ran for 169 yards for an average of 5.5 yards per carry.
Nobody who was on the field should be considered a loser, as everyone who played was a winner. The biggest losers, though, were guys who didn't step on the field.
Minnesota Vikings Winners and Losers from the Week 3 win over the Cincinnati Bengals
Winner No. 1
Isaiah Rodgers - CB
Nobody on the Vikings was a bigger winner than Rodgers. He forced a fumble, recovered one fumble, collected two interceptions, and scored two touchdowns in the win. His underrated stat that no one has talked about is his two pass deflections.
There may never be a performance like that one ever again in NFL history.
Loser No. 1
Aaron Jones - RB
Even before his injury, Aaron Jones was not able to match the level of play he had in the past few seasons. It's been worse for him to see his backup, Jordan Mason, put up some big numbers and basically become the future starter for Minnesota.
If Jones isn't careful, Mason might push the future up to this season.
Winner No. 2
Jordan Mason - RB
Diving deeper into Mason's play, the Vikings' new starting running back gave the team their first 100-yard game of the season as he finished with 116 yards, averaging 7.3 yards per carry, and scored two touchdowns.
He has made quite the argument to be the starting running back for the Vikings full-time after one of the best performances of his career.
Loser No. 2
J.J. McCarthy - QB
After going through some struggles in his first two starts of his career, J.J. McCarthy watched his backup quarterback, Carson Wentz, put up the best performance of any Vikings quarterback this season while he recovers from his injury.
This in no means that McCarthy will lose his job, but it will certainly mean he will have a shorter leash when he returns if Wentz continues his stellar performance.
Winner No. 3
Carson Wentz - QB
Speaking of Wentz, what a debut for the 32-year-old quarterback. After being with the team less than a month, he finished the game completing 14 of 20 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns to zero interceptions, adding four yards rushing.
Was it a spectacular game? No, but it was efficient and he protected the football. That's all a head coach can ask from his quarterback.
Winner No. 4
Will Reichard - K
The hot streak of Will Reichard in 2025 continues with a historic performance. He was a perfect two for two on field goals and six for six on extra points.
His 62-yard field goal was the longest in franchise history. Reichard is now six for six on field goals and seven for seven on the season. The Vikings have definitely found their kicker of the future.
