Here's a Highlight Reel of Teddy Bridgewater's Practice Throws

Kudos to the video savvy Vikings fan who took all the publicly available clips of Teddy Bridgewater throwing the football in OTAs and minicamp and put them together into a handy highlight reel.

Now you tape nuts will have something to study for the next month while we wait for real training camp to start. Go ahead, get to it. Pick apart his mechanics. Dissect his delivery. Obsess over his footwork. Tell me everything that’s wrong with Teddy Bridgewater. Crush my hopes and dreams.

Keep in mind of course that this footage was culled from clips posted on the team’s official site. So it’s only the good throws. The bad throws were all cut out by the Vikings’ video stooges and deleted forever.

There may be a flash drive somewhere, stashed away in Wobby’s closet perhaps, containing all the bad throws. If you want to see the forbidden footage, you’ll have to don ninja gear and break into Wobby’s house. Just watch out for his attack dog.

Oh, there’s also a flash drive with all Christian Ponder’s throws on it. Actually it’s not even a flash drive, it’s just a floppy disc. One of those big black ones like we used to use in grade school.

Storage space isn’t an issue with Ponder’s throws. He only got about ten reps between OTAs and minicamp. But it’s an open three-way competition.

Cough.

There’s a collection of Zinski’s good articles that are stored on a floppy disc too. It keeps reading “file not found”.

  • JoeyVikes

I was going to hold off on purchasing Teddy’s jersey until he gets a few games under his belt don’t want make the same mistake I did with tavaris Jackson…but this kid looks real good ..I like him more and more each day…think I’m getting thag jersey now!

    • Stryker

I got burned with a Ponder jersey. I’ll be getting the TB 5 jersey soon though.

  • VikingsVoice

ZInski… what’s the deal? Somewhere along the line you turned into a cynic. Now all your articles are snide and pessimistic. Often poorly researched and poorly written… I don’t get it.. You are trying to get fired right? Just man up and quite rather than spreading this much negativity. We’re VIkings fans, win or lose. What are you?

    • trinity

Maybe it’s just how he feels. If you don’t like it, why read it? You could easily stop once you see his name attach to it. but it seems like you guys read his stuff just to bitch and whine. If that makes you happy, go for it. It’s pretty sad though.

      • VikingsVoice

Funny how you have no problem leaving your criticism of our comments, yet you take offense at our criticism of the article and it’s writer.

        • trinity

I had this debate just yesterday, and I’m not interested in repeating myself to you. Check out what I told the other guy. Long story short, the same goes for you.

        • cherrie 10

he doesn’t like it when you tell him how hypocritical it is. it’s no big deal. we’re just sad and embarrassing and he’s not and he feels sorry for us. It makes perfect sense to me.

  • Don Andrew Halvorson

I see some tough throws to some second stringers. Thielen looks like a possession beast in here, and Wright looks elusive. Hopefully, we don’t have to resort to Kain Coulter as WR5 because Simpson will be missing play times, and WR5 will hit the field pretty often pretty quick. Teddy looks like a starter for Week 1, but I might be buying all the smoke screens.

  • holymomentumbatman#84

As usual, it’s Zinski, the cynic, on the prowl. I got news for him, AND for all that read OR post on this thread…they MAY HAVE cut bad throws out of this reel, and Wobby MAY HAVE a flash drive with the bad throws on it, but I’ll bet a thousand bucks against a hole in a doughnut that the GOOD throws outnumber those bad ones 20 to 1, AT LEAST! TB is chomping at the bit to get into a pre or regular season game as a starter…and he’s READY. Pro ready. PAY ABSOLUTELY NO ATTENTION to all of those turd bay trolls that are critiquing Teddy’s supposed “tiny” hands, and bragging about shaaron rodgers’ hands being SO MUCH BIGGER. That’s crap. Shaaron’s hands are 3/4″ bigger. So freakin’ what? Like it’s been said before, the college ball is bigger than the NFL ball, and in 3 YEARS at Louisville, Bridgewater threw for about 11,000 yards, with over a 65% completion percentage. Think about it. Shaaron rode the pine for 3 YEARS, learning from the master, before he became a starter. He DIDN’T HAVE Norv Turner as his OC, though, who is a master in his own right. TB5 WILL LEARN WELL about all the demands and intricacies of being a NFL starting QB, and when he finally takes the field, whoever the opposing secondary are, will be wishing that they hadn’t come to the game. Teddy Bridgewater is going to become a universally FEARED name around the NFL. If someone wants to talk “bust”, then they need to do their jawing about “Johnny football” or Blake Bortles, because TB5 DON’T BELONG IN THAT CONVERSATION. SKOL VIKINGS!!!

  • trinity

What the fuck is everyone’s problem with Zinski? It’s safe to say that he doesn’t give two shits about any of your opinions, because he keeps writing without even acknowledging you guys. Word of advice…simply stop reading when you see he wrote the fucking article since you guys hate it so much. Sheesh.

    • cherrie 10

Couldn’t we say the same? If you don’t like the comments simply stop reading them?

      • trinity

        Actually, from a personal standpoint, i don’t
Care about your opinion. It’s not aimed at me. I just started following this thread, and this is the third straight Zinski article that I read that had a bunch of comments like this. I was curious about the point, since Zinski clearly appears to not give a shit what you guys say. I don’t read these articles just to look at the comments, but it appears you guys read his work just to bash it, and therein lies the difference between me and you all.

        • cherrie 10

So if a bunch of people all say the same thing about the same person have you ever thought there might be some reason for it? And no one reads his work just to bash it. In fact he recently wrote a good article and didn’t get ridiculously immature and no one including me had a bad thing to say. But his guesses based on nothing, and his negativity towards people he knows nothing about and his Ponder bashing is a waste of time. He’s ridiculous. He can write an article about Anthony Barr and he’ll take up a whole paragraph on how he’s making Christian Ponder wet his diaper and how his wife had to bring him a new one from home. It’s old and not funny and makes everyone want the last minute of their lives back. Trust me. But yes we read it because we like the team and it may be a good informative article. You certainly don’t have to read the comments. So I still don’t see the difference between you and “us”.

          • trinity

Honestly, I’m not sure how you don’t see the difference. I think you are on his articles to bash him. I say that because you don’t have to read it. I am on here to read the article, and I’m only on the comments to comment. Upon commenting, i noticed the bash fest (again) and wondered at the point. You guys clearly take pleasure in this, whereas the only thing I feel is embarrassed for you. The embarrassment comes from the opinion that I would rather be disliked than viewed as insignificant. You guys get on here and passionately attempt to what? Lol hurt his feelings? Meanwhile, this guy doesn’t even find you guys significant enough to even trouble himself with responding. He just turns right around and writes something else. That should embarrass you, but something tells me it doesn’t. Take care man.

          • cherrie 10

I guess we’ll agree to disagree. He wrote a good column about Jennings and Ponder a couple days ago and no one “bashed him”. And no one is bashing the other columnists. So please don’t feel embarrassed for me because I commented and said the guy is immature. I’m wondering why you’d feel the need to defend him. He’s a big boy. He takes plenty of shots at people. The irony is amazing.

    • holymomentumbatman#84

Know what trinity? Nothing personal, man, but I couldn’t give two shits about cherrie 10 and you bitching each other out about Zinski. He does write a lot of depressing, degrading shit about different players at times, but what the fuck are ya gonna ? I read the articles(by Zinski AND everybody else) and the comments too. Sometimes, there are articles and comments that really piss me off…not JUST here, but other sports sites as well. I noticed that at the beginning of your, ( and cherrie 10′s) “banter”, that there are several “fucks” and “shits” from

      • trinity

Ok? If you don’t give two shits, why did you message me? And it looks like your message was cut off anyway. You pointed out our curse words (for whatever reason) then you stopped in the middle of the sentence (for some reason). I’ll just say ok.

        • holymomentumbatman#84

Got sidetracked dude, comment’s finished now.

  • cherrie 10

It’s just how we feel. You could easily stop before you read the comments. Word of advice…If you don’t like the comments, don’t read them.

  • MikeH123

The Pollyannas are after Zinski again. They are due for a rude awakening when they have to watch all his throws against good real game Ds.

    • Bob E.

You’re just waiting for the some good “D” Mike? Don’t wait, they have bars for that, i hear.

      • Bob E.

        Totally kidding by the way.

  • t-hens

throwing is great, confidence is great, everything looks great! however the one thing that I somewhat see he needs to work on is not staring down his target. he does it a few times in the video and does it a tad to early in the play development. Otherwise he really looks like he could be our week 1 starter

    • holymomentumbatman#84

Come time for Teddy to take the field…GUARANTEED that even if he DOES do a little staring down, it won’t be nearly as much OR as often as it was with Ponder. NOBODY does that as much as CP7. SKOL VIKINGS!!!

      • t-hens

I’ll agree with you there! I was just going by what I saw on the video but a little staring down doesnt really concern me as much as if ponder was in

    • holymomentumbatman#84

I’ve watched A LOT of film of TB5 while at Louisville, and the OTA video attached with this article, and if you REALLY PAY ATTENTION, you will see that he doesn’t really stare down his WR’S as much as you think. I see a LOT of his head turning, as if he’s looking off DB’s, and reading defenses. You will notice a LOT of these excellent attributes especially in his college tapes. PONDER IS YOUR STARE DOWN GUY, NOT TEDDY “my hands are ONLY 1/4″ smaller than shaaron rodgers” BRIDGWATER. TB5 is DESTINED to become a superstar, franchise QB, and will take the Minnesota Vikings to a Super Bowl title. Yes, THAT WAS just said. SKOL VIKINGS!!

  • JoeyVikes

Anybody else excited about McKinnon like i am? He looks good in this video as well…def see him as norvs Sproles

    • holymomentumbatman#84

Yeah, I, too, very much like McKinnon, nd he does seem like he’ll be a VERY GOOD Sproles type back. He looks elusive and fast. I really hope this rook pans out under Norv, and if so, I see another superstar back in the making for my Vikings! Hell yes! SKOL VIKINGS!!

  • Daniel Laxen

    Ponder’s is below…

  • David Adam

The main thing you will notice about Teddy’s throws…it always appears that his receivers are open by 5-7 yards because Teddy knows where he is going with the throw before the snap based on the coverage. Even this 7 on 7 drill before his first real practice! Wait until he has two or three games under his belt! He is a super super star! Look at how the DB’s and LB’s are shaking their heads!!!!!

  • Stryker

Nice, but I didn’t see number 84. Are they holding Patterson out of practice? Was that mostly just 2 team?

  • Gordon Guffey

For what it was Teddy looked good ~ Now we will see what he looks like with the Pads on in TC a month from now ~ Hopefully he will keep growing ~

  • unclejesse40

I am a Chiefs fan but really want to see this guy do well. Had Teddy come out last year I wanted the Chiefs to take him number 1. He was by far my favorite QB in this years crop and I think you guys got a steal at the end of the 1st round. This might hurt my QB grading, but I don’t think Cassel isn’t as bad as a lot of people say. Now I don’t think he is a world beater but as a guy who can lead you until Teddy is ready and then be an above average back up QB that knows how to start in the NFL, I think he is super valuable.

  • Black Ranger Gold Necklace

They need to throw him into the fire and let him set the league on fire. He’s defiantly a star. Why I say that??? He looks every bit as good in this video as he did in that Miami bowl game and the sugar bowl against Florida. He was a beast in college and is as advanced as any college QB we’ve ever seen coming out. Kinda hate the fact that he went to the vikings instead of the Texans cause he’d be in the same division as Luck and with the Texans supporting cast he would have took the division his first year and made playoffs with that soft schedule.
