Teams are required to cut their rosters from 90 to 75 by tomorrow, and the Vikings are getting a jump on the process. Darren Woolfson reports that defensive backs Mistral Raymond and Derek Cox will be among the first players let go.

Raymond is reportedly being cut with the waived-injured designation. The safety was hurt during Saturday’s preseason game against the Chiefs.
The veteran Cox looked to be in the mix at cornerback but the Vikings have elected to go another way. Marcus Sherels got a lot of snaps during the Chiefs game and appears to be a favorite of Mike Zimmer and George Edwards.
Among the other cuts are a bunch of players we easily could have anticipated. Woolfson says Kevin Murphy has been let go, which means Antonio “Tiny” Richardson will probably stay (though the Vikings might look to beef up their OT depth by picking up a veteran off the waiver wire).
Recently-signed tight end Kory Sperry is also being let go, along with safety Brandan Bishop, WR Kamar Jorden and CB Robert Steeples.
These are just the first cuts being reported. The Vikings will have to trim fifteen players altogether by Tuesday.
Update: Per Tom Pelissero, add DT Kheeston Randall, OL Pierce Burton, WR Erik Lora, WR Ty Walker, DE Jake Snyder and DE Tyler Scott to the cut list.
